Vail Village places lodging, Gondola One, restaurants, and après-ski streets into a compact pedestrian setting at the foot of Vail Mountain. A well-chosen condo or home can shorten the transition from breakfast to the lifts and from the final run to dinner; some properties provide true ski-in and ski-out access. The village remains useful for non-skiers because shops and dining do not require a car. For families, the central question is exact lodging location, since a few blocks can meaningfully change the daily walk in ski boots.
